Banking Apprenticeship OpportunityA Banking Apprenticeship is a paid position providing on-the-job training that allows you to learn job functions within the banking industry while working side-by-side with our team of experienced bankers and attending classes. First Bank is proud to partner with Harper College to offer students a two-year paid apprenticeship. This on-the-job training and educational opportunity will open doors and provide first-hand experience and insight into the world of banking. Position OverviewThe Banking Apprenticeship is a two-year program with 12-week semesters. Classes are held two days per week through Harper College. Apprentices work three or four days per week at First Bank; have a dedicated mentor; and are assigned to two years of hands-on experience in Retail Banking and/or Banking Operations. Apprentices who complete the Banking Apprenticeship will earn an Associate of Applied Science Degree (AAS) in Business Administration with a concentration in Financial Management, a certification from the United States Department of Labor indicating they are fully qualified for their occupation, combined with two years of banking experience.
